Biker Gang

When Grandma Sue visited, we found these great shirts that made us laugh that we ended up getting. There was a Mama, Papa, Baby bear shirt theme and then there was a Boss Man, Boss Lady, Mini Bossy, and Little Boss one. We decked out the Like a Boss theme shirts for the Irrigation Festival and I had a difficult time getting good pics of the kids in their shirts. However, I did get some pretty stellar shots of the Schroe-dawg Quad's motorcycle gang leaders: Sassafras and Tank. So, enjoy. :)

Goonies Forever---Excursion to Astoria

I love the 80's flick The Goonies and the movie was filmed on location in Astoria, Oregon, which is about a 4 hour drive from where we live. So, investigating the surrounding area, Brad and I decided to go camping at Ft. Stevens State Park, which is between Astoria and Seaside, Oregon. We figured it would be quiet and quaint, as it borders the Pacific Coast and the mouth of Columbia River. Besides, we figured we could take the day to drive down on Saturday, along highway 101, and stop along the way for our dog's and Madelynne's sake. Let me preface that is always an adventure with the Schroeder clan to go camping or even just a minor outing. Heck, last weekend we went on an 8 mile hike in flip flops. We left bright and early and after going through our checklist, we realized we had left all our breakfast stuff at the house. Updates and Such

It's been sometime since I last updated the blog, but figured I better get on it. The school year is in full swing and we've been busy, as usual doing all the things we do between parenting, enjoying our weekends, and routine. No major projects are holding us back this year, so we've been trying to soak up every ounce of the ending seasons as we can. Fall was slow to start here, but her beauty and glory haven't left and I am sure will stick around well into November. That is the fortunate part of the PACNW. Here are the highlights up to this point: August Jax started Preschool and Maddy is in the 3rd grade. So far, they are doing well. Jax loves going to school and is always eager when he gets to "ride the bus to Maddy's school." For the future's not ours to see...

There is so much going on in our world today that is negative. I get irritated with watching the news and seeing such drama the media portrays. I never really paid that much attention to it until I had Madelynne and then everything changed about my perception of the world. It is scary, out there, when all you want to do is shelter and protect your little one. Maybe I am coming to the terms with growing older and realizing that life on this great planet is limited and to make the most of it. Being a SAH mom has really caused me to think and reflect on so many different things. It hasn’t always been sweet, happy thoughts, either. I know a few weeks ago I was really concerned for the end of the world and for my daughter and future generations that have to endure such drastic changes that will continue to occur over time. I find myself getting caught up with questions about my faith and my journey as a Christian and feeling lost and not knowing who to turn to or talk to about such conflict...
