Falling Back into Routine

With the blink of an eye, Maddy was off to kindergarten. Crazy how fast time goes! She is really enjoying it. I am glad we were able to send her to Queen of Angels. Her class size is significantly small, which makes me happy as a public school teacher. She'll get more individualized instruction that way.  She loves to tell me about lunch and recess, but when you probe a bit, she tells us about science, how she is a math leader, and loves her volunteer story time. Oh, and that they have special intentions at prayer time, where she always prays for her family. Alas, we are back into our crazy routines. Here are a few pics from that first official day. Month 5

Mr. Jax is now 5 months old and is full of laughter, giggles, smiles, and loves. Boy, is he one happy little guy. I remember Madelynne being a pretty good baby, too, but Jaxson is just so laid back and easy. Here's to hoping this transfers on to toddlerhood. He hasn't rolled over since the first time, although he wants to when he can't see me when I am working in a different room. He'll arch his back and search for me, via my voice. It's pretty comical. He has the best laugh. I love getting him going because then it is a good ten minutes of giggles. He also does this gutteral coo which is pretty cute. He even squeals with delight, after his laughing fits. He is tolerating tummy time a bit more, but loves to be cuddled and held. He is giving big, sloppy kisses now, when you ask him to, which is always nice. He started solid foods recently and seems to be enjoying them. Madelynne insists on trying what he does, as if she doesn't get enough to eat. He lov

Last Days of Summer

Summer has sadly slipped away, considering the temperatures are starting to drop, the leaves are beginning to change, and the start of fall is just around the corner. We made the best of one of our last days by visiting beautiful Second Beach in La Push. It never gets old to day trip to the ocean. Running on the beach Caught in the tide Playing with motion Endless Energy Of course, I tended to play a bit with some of my camera, enjoying the last of it all.  Garden spider feasting on a fly Water droplets As sad as we were to watch summer slip away, especially when I drove Maddy to school for the first day, God reminded me how awesome of a place we live in and how beautiful our Mother Earth is. After I dropped her off and was enjoying my last day with Jaxson before I headed back to work the next day, I drove to the Ediz Hook and was lucky to watch a pod of  orcas feast on salmon in our harbor for well over four hours. It was incredible. We typica
