Welcome 2015!

Here we are at the start of 2015 and it's been a busy few weeks. I was not lying when I said I would probably not post until after the New Year, and here we are! For me, the past two weeks have been extremely relaxing and a means to catch up on life. I thoroughly embraced each moment with friends and my little family, specifically Maddy, and took my camera out a bit more to experiment and play. I was even approached about doing some portraits, as in a gig, and was thrilled, but am nervous. It became a domino affect of thoughts.... I started pondering the possibilities of owning a photography business on the side of every other hat I wear. That led me to looking up $1200 lenses that I "need" or a cool newer, faster camera that is close to a small car loan. Which resulted in me, measuring myself up to the best of the best on the internet and thinking...Holy cow?! Do I really have what it takes? Am I even that good.  Will I be that   good? Where do I even begin? What w

Fun Lens!

For Christmas I got a very cool lens and am planning to invest in one more of their lenses to accomodate my cool arpeture kit. It's called  Lensbaby  and you can make some pretty stellar pics by maneuvering the lens with a gentle, accordian like squeeze, up or down, and focus is sharp to where the target is to be. I got the Spark. The lens blurs out some parts of the background or foreground, stuff most photographers do in post-processing. It's a very fun lens, but is taking some time getting used to. I cannot wait for the other lens to accompany the arpeture kit because then I can capture some very cool shaped bokeh. This is the creative piece I love with photography. So here are some of my Lensbaby Spark pics.

Baby Olivia!

Our wonderful and dear friends, Steve and Nikki, finally had their baby. After much anticipation and excitement, I had a chance to get in a portrait session of the sweetheart, using all natural light. There is something so special about photographing a baby, let alone a newborn. She is so sweet and will be a forever friend to Madelynne. Here are a few of my favorites.

Christmas 2014

We had a great, quiet Christmas here in Washington, as we're saving up for a few trips this year. It was pretty low key and we didn't do too much. Madelynne was really excited to see what Santa brought her for Christmas and she sure got everything she asked for. Some of her favorites have been her art supplies and tablet my parents got her. She also loves her PAW Patrol, Chase on the Case, toy with his own car. She sure loves that show. We also had dinner with our friends Steve and Nikki at Steve's folks house. It was a lot of fun and it's nice to be "adopted" when we don' t have anyone out here. Here is a compliation of pictures over the course of the few weeks all devoted to Christmas!
