Portrait Practice

On the  Capture Your 365  website, you can take several classes from photographer Katrina Kennedy. I have already taken the Exposure class and decided to try out the Practice class, which runs year long. Each month she gives us a specific topic with lessons that align to the topic for us to practice. Last month was protraits. Here are some of my favorites. Maybe I'll start doing some photography on the side, with actual clients! For  now, I'm still aspiring and enjoying a hobby that allows me to be creative. Enjoy! My friend's daughter This was my favorite.  Observing  Steve and Nicole, and their "kids", and baby Phillips! Almost 8 Cousins Even Pepper had her turn at portraits. :)  Portaits without a face

First Time Fishing

Madelynne has been dying to go fishing, ever since Grandma Sue bought her a fishing pole. Brad and I decided to find a place we could take her that could benefit all our adventurous appetities. We decided on a hike to Lena Lakes, which is a dog friendly trail. It was HOT. But it was well worth the journey. The end result is a beautiful mountain lake with endless rocky shoreline and a few campsites, which we discussed would be a nice place to backpack sometime. The trail was a moderate incline, switchbacks the majority of the way up, but it was all old growth forests with large boulders covered in moss and tall, endless pines. The dogs did not waste much time jumping into the lake as soon as we got to it, and we enjoyed some attempts to throw the line a few times, away from Noelle's ruckus of chasing after stick after stick. Proud of Madelynne for her first attempt to fish! Calculating  Attempting Two peas in a pod mom's turn to help  Old g
