Belated Birthday Party Post

Life has gotten the best of me, I suppose, with finishing up a summer quarter class, job searching, travelling and family visiting, and just being a mom. Madelynne celebrated her 1 st birthday on the 15 th and we hosted a little party shin-dig for her on the 11 th . The party was a nice and great turn out. I had fun creating snacks, and a cupcake cake all in the theme of butterflies and caterpillars. Best part was Brad helping her blow out the candle, which she tried to “eat”, and hence, burned her lip a tad, but nothing that brought on the waterworks or really left a mark. Enjoyable 1 st birthday and wish family could have been here to celebrate! Here are pics to commemorate the day! Birthday Girl! The Cake The Window Decor Balloons Treats! Happy 1st Birthday, Madelynne!

Dear Madelynne: One year ago you were placed into my arms after enduring 19 hours of labor for you to be brought into our world. Everyone had always told me that you will never know the bond or connection of loving another human being until you have a child and honestly, they were right. The minute I was able to touch your small little fingers and hold your tiny little body close to mine, I will never forget the tremendous amount of love that radiated between you and I. This bond was unbreakable. It was our life line. It was meant to be. This past year has been an amazing journey that I will not forget. As much as I put off having children, I am so glad that you came into our life when you did. That was something else everyone always said: there is no right time to have kids. And they were mostly right. As much as we thought we had our “plan” all figured out, it wasn’t up to us to begin with.  So your timing was perfect. And we truly are blessed. I have loved snugglin

Trip of Chaotic Fun

The last three days Lindsey and Damion visited we ventured to Seattle and took in a bit of sight seeing and tourist fun. We took the ferry over there so they could experience that, and so we could get Maddy out of the car for a bit. Our first venture in Seattle was to check out the infamous Troll Under the Bridge. Ever since we saw the movie 10 Things I Hate About You , we both wanted to see this Troll, so that was our first stop. Damion will be sure to let you know that “he climbed on him and sat on his arm”. Cool, quirky tourist stop. Fremont Troll City Skyline from ferry We then ventured to Renton to see the Jimi Hendrix Memorial, which was a nice tribute from his family and for his fans. It had lyrics and quotes transcribed in his handwriting. His families tombs and gravestones circled the main memorial. Very neat.
