We didn't hesitate on adding something "new" to our list this spring, on top of the new baby. We had been in the market for buying a house for quite some time. After going back and forth on the decision to buy or wait another year, we couldn't pass up a foreclosed home, in our price range, which fit our dream criteria. Needless to say, we were stoked. We can officially say we are "putting down our roots" in lovely Washington State, with no means to up and move, like the nomads we are notorious for being. No, we have officially "adulted", or settled, so Madelynne and Jaxson have a community to claim as their own. It's an exciting adventure, for sure. Here's a glimpse into our humble abode.

Kids bathroom---we plan to put a bathtub in this bathroom eventually. |

Jaxson's room |

Maddy's room |

Her very cool slide bed that she has shown off to the neighbor kids once or twice now |

Family room |
We plan to paint this room purple and grey to honor our obsession with the Rockies. That is looking to be a summer project for Madelynne and I. :)
|
Back half of family room is the playroom |
|
Wrap around back porch |
The porch wraps all the way around the back half of the house. Our goal is to redo it in Trex, as the majority of it is rotted, especially on the north side that receives little sun. This will be a "piece by piece" project for Brad. :)
|
patio and backyard |
The mounds in back our septic mounds. We will have that blocked off by our fence we'll be building in the next few weeks.
|
garage, hot tub that we're not sure if it works |
Large cement pad out back makes an opportunity for Brad to build a future shed/pole barn. Someday.
|
Temporary pen for the mutts until we build our fence |
|
more backyard |
Our neighbors to the east are horses and cows.

Upstairs loft/office=LOVE |
The upstairs addition is separate from the other rooms in the house. I love the office loft space. Perfect for me to write and work sans kids and husband.

Master bedroom |

Master bath |

2nd view of MB |

Master closet |

Mountain view (can't tell b/c of the cloud cover) |

Front |
She definitely needs a new coat of paint (next summer's project) and we have to move a lot of the land away from the house itself, due to blockage of some of the ventilation windows to the crawl space under the house. That will be another project in itself this summer.

Garage |
We have a little over an acre, almost two, of land that we plan to design. We want to plant a few fruit trees, as we already have two cherry trees. In the backyard, we intend to put in a few blueberry bushes and even out the ground, as it's still pretty hilly from the recent upgrade to the septic. The neighbors are nice to the west of us, and seem to be the go-to for the majority of neighbor kids. Maddy has already taken a liking to them and has "new friends" as she wants to play with them every day.
It's a nice place and needs some TLC, but with our hard work and making it "our own," the projects won't disappoint. :)
Thank you for the tour!
